Katrina Weissman is an indie rock/pop singer/songwriter based in Los Angeles and will be releasing her debut EP Phantom Thumb on April 4, 2025. Her music blends 90’s indie rock, folk and dream-pop with influences from Mazzy Star, The Cranberries and Julia Jacklin, exploring relationships and self-discovery through haunting melodies and cinematic storytelling. Her live presence is captivating and gut-wrenching with soaring violin, slide guitar, and uniquely powerful vocals. After releasing a series of singles with wide acclaim (featured on Spotify Fresh Finds/Indie Fresh Finds, the film “After Everything” (2023), and in publications like The Luna Collective and Obscure Sound) she released her EP this April, including 5 songs and music videos unfolding a harsh but evolving philosophy around growing up, emotional exhaustion, and learning to let go. It was produced alongside Simon Hirschfield (Dark Dazey) and performed with her band Raina Markham (violin), Dash Goss-Post (drums, Flamango Bay), Tristin Souvannarath (bass, T. Rexico), Thomas Souvannarath (lead guitar, T. Rexico). Phantom Thumb was performed at her EP release show extravaganza on April 4 at Genghis Cohen featuring music, poetry, and magic. Katrina will continue performing the EP and songs from a new album on her upcoming West Coast tour in San Diego, Santa Barbara, LA, Oakland, and Portland.
Katrina grew up in New Jersey surrounded by musical theater, marching band, and a tight-knit small-town community. She started writing songs as a little kid and formed her first band in high school with marching band friends, playing in DIY venues like Serendipity.
After moving to Los Angeles for school, she began experimenting with a mix of folk and dream-pop sounds and became deeply ingrained in the music scene, playing over 20 shows with up-and-coming bands in a growing folk/rock singer/songwriter scene. Her music intimately reflects this path, centering on homesickness and relationships that are both deep and fragile, knowing that nothing is as certain as change!
